Who can enter?
Teens between the ages of 13-18 years old who reside within Cox Communications Las Vegas service area.  This includes Clark County, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City.  Employees, affiliates and agents of official Sponsors of the contest and members of their families or persons residing in the same household are not eligible to enter or win.

When can I submit my video? 
Videos may be submitted between 12:01am PST on Monday, January 7, 2019 and 11:59pm PST on Sunday, February 10, 2019.  No videos will be accepted after 11:59p PST on 2/10/19.

 How do I submit my video? 
After you upload your video on YouTube or Vimeo, copy and paste the link into the Video Submission URL box on iChoosetoDrive.com.  All fields associated with the online uploading of entries must be completed and answered truthfully.  Failure to do so could result in disqualification.

Videos in the appropriate file format and saved on appropriate media (thumb drive, CD, DVD, etc.) can also be submitted to iChoose To Drive Video Contest c/o Cox Media, 1700 Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106.  All physical entries must be accompanied by a completed entry form, available here, and a signed Parent Consent Form, available here.  All information requests on the entry form must be completed and answered truthfully.  Failure to do so could result in disqualification.

 Contest sponsors are not responsible for Internet transmission errors, illegible entries, service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent transmitting your entry.  It is recommended that any computers used in the uploading of videos or in the voting process should have cookies enabled in the browser settings.

There is no limit on the number of entries you can submit for consideration.

What type of video are you looking for? 
Video entries must address the official topic “Distracted Driving” – this includes anything that takes someone’s sole focus off of driving, i.e., texting while driving, talking on the phone while driving, interacting with vehicle passengers, putting on make-up, eating/drinking, etc.  Video entries may be live action, animation, claymation, etc. Everything else is up to you.  Be creative. 

Please keep in mind that entries must not, in the sole and unfettered judgment of Sponsors, contain any sexually explicit, disparaging, libelous or other inappropriate content, language or nudity.  All videos must be appropriate for the general public to view. 

They must also not contain any act that is considered dangerous, in the sole and unfettered judgment of the Sponsors.  This includes engaging in texting, or other unsafe activities, while actually operating a moving motor vehicle. 

Lastly, entries must not violate any copyrights or trademarks, including music used in the video.  Applicant must have consent and credit the music or it must be the applicant’s original music. 

Failure to adhere to the above criteria may result in disqualification.

How long can the video be?  
As the winning entry will air on television, the video must be 30-seconds in length – no longer and no shorter.  This is the standard television commercial length.  The file format of all uploaded videos must be .MOV, .MP4 or .WMV.  The maximum file size is 20MB.  All videos must be in the English language.

What will happen with my video? 
All submitted videos become the property of Cox Communications and contest sponsors.  Any portion of the video, or the entire video, may be used by Cox or the contest sponsors in future marketing campaigns.  Any portion of the video, or the entire video, may be available for public viewing online or via Cox’s cable system.

How will the winner be selected? 
From all valid video entries, a panel of judges will choose the top 5 videos.  The public will help decide the winner via online polling and video views.  The winner selection will be based on a combination of online views popularity (25%), online polling popularity (50%) and judges’ input (25%). 

There is no limit on the number of times a single user may vote for a particular video either via online polling or by viewing a video online.  However, votes generated by a script, macro or other automated means will be disqualified. 

Sponsors are not responsible for votes not tallied due to Internet transmission errors, service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties or technological limitations that may prevent transmission or proper accounting of votes via online polling and/or video views.  It is recommended that any computers used in the uploading of videos or in the voting process should have cookies enabled in the browser settings.  

In the event of a tie, the winning video will be determined based on emotional connection and relevance to the topic by the judges. All decisions with respect to the contest are final.

When does voting for the winner begin? 
Voting will begin on or around Monday, February 25, 2019, and conclude at 11:59p PST on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

What is the prize for the winning video? 
The team leader for the winning video will receive a $2,000 cash prize.  If the winning video was created by several individuals, it will be the responsibility of the designated team leader to distribute the winnings amongst their co-creators.  

The winning PSA video may also be aired on cable television networks. The winner(s) will be filmed receiving their prize money and may be featured in a custom-created television commercial announcing the results of the contest. 

Prizes may also be awarded for their teacher mentor as designated on their entry form as well as for the second, third and fourth place videos.
